Do We Celebrate Diversity?
Discovering Systemic Racism in the Maine Wedding Industry
With Claire Winston-Wade and Fausto Pifferrer
The national spotlight on Black Lives Matter and systemic racism in America have us wondering…how are we doing in the Maine wedding industry? Claire Winston-Wade and Fausto Pifferrer will help us dig a little deeper into this important topic.

Claire Winston-Wade is a professional wedding Officiant based in Portland, Maine. Her company, Savoir Claire has been operating full-time & year-round for five years. Though a traditionalist at heart, Claire found a niche in officiating off-beat and off-the-beaten path weddings and elopements throughout the northeast. It’s her vast collection of sample ceremonies, vows, readings, prayers, poems and processionals that assure couples a memorably unique, loving and inclusive tone to each event.
Fausto Pifferrer is the co-Founder of Blue Elephant and Catering, BASH Wedding Marketplace, LA Blue Wedding Brokers, and Co-owner of Real Maine Weddings Magazine, Fausto began his career in catering and event planning more than 25 years ago in Philadelphia.
